Keep the master bags sealed

An opened assortment sheds pieces every time someone digs through it. Keep unopened packs sealed until the event that needs them, and pour opened leftovers into a zip bag with the count written on it in marker. Future you, counting against a class list at ten at night, will be glad the bag already knows its number.

Heat is the only real enemy

Silicone shrugs off drops, squeezes and dishwater, but a hot car trunk in July or a windowsill in full sun is another story. Shapes can warp and colors can tire. Store the bin somewhere that stays room temperature, which rules out the garage in summer and the car forever.

Wipe, dry, return

Favors that came back from an outdoor party clean up with a damp cloth and air dry in a minute. Do that before they go back in the bin, not after they come out, so the stash is always ready and never a chore standing between you and a finished goodie bag.

Check the bin before each season

The stash system has one moving part: look inside before each stretch of the party calendar.
